With 50 years of Barbie, and soft blonde has crossed thousands of styles and occupations. People BarbieCollector.com, a line of upscale, dolls limited edition, have often in the kind of fashionable frilly princess that’ve become synonymous with the brand. But every now and then they burst into more daring territory Brasher. And now, with time out from the rest of the teen vampire romance, Twilight Barbies.
This is not the first company of Barbie in the dark side of life. There Addams Family Barbie, Harley-Davidson Barbie, Barbie’s masterpiece of Hitchcock’s “The Birds” Catwoman Barbie, Barbie Medusa, and Kimora Lee Simmons Barbie. And there are certainly huge pop-culture tie-ins: Lord of the Rings Barbie Chicago Cubs Barbie, NASCAR Barbie (separate Jeff Gordon Barbie or Barbie Dale Earnhardt Jr.), and the name unfortunately Grease Barbie. But these are exceptions: historically, Mattel has maintained its relatively chaste, reluctant to flirt with other strong brands.
But now, it’s not just vampire Barbie, Barbie is Twilight. And while Stephenie Meyer “Twilight” franchise is very well loved with young girls, this is not the kind of pretty-pretty pink MUSHROOMS (it’s really a registered trademark pink called, seriously, PMS 219), which could She bought Barbie Woods from “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blue”, which was different, presumably, Barbie Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde.” And Barbie has been under pressure from the Bratz line for incisive modernize and stay relevant. Then the vampiric Twilight Barbie a sort of nail in the coffin for girliness bubble gum?
“Barbie has always been at the forefront of pop culture,” said Lauren Dougherty, a spokeswoman for Mattel. “This partnership shows that Barbie is in like with Twilight. It’s fun. He is a fan of life. We have made Star Trek Barbie. These projects are in the singular, highly detailed collectibles faith. ”
And it’s not like you could not place your Twilight Barbie in her pink convertible. Oh, Barbie!
